The royals, is one of Malaysia annual event to actually let people know what is it like to debate in the international competition itself. You would have people such as Andrew(Ips), Meyo, hugh, Halida, and so much 'more, these are the debators that are really the ones that are really very pro... I think that the debate this year held in UM itself is not something to be proud about Well, you see, the standard of accomodation itself is such a waste, this is not something to be play about.
The debate itself is really good, but the accomodation is something that dissapoint me (us) the english debator alot. When i first checked into my room, I had room that is so stuffy and smelly i literally have to wear a maks to breathe in it. Talk about clean and fresh air, Malaya University should and supposed to be a University with pride and virtue, but that incident hampered my thoughts on once agreat unversity to be in.
The debate tournament was something nice to talk about, the scene was Oh god, really something not to be missed. When I looked back at some of the motion that were revealed by the debating community itself, I was really shock i..e THBT the Swiss government should ban all minarates in it's continent. I was like what the hell. I don't even know that issue, what is this issue anyway, well.... this is something that I really thought wer should ponder about. after the debate itself, we lost to International Islamic University Malaysia (IIU) junior team A, We UTHM junior team A stand no ground, we don't even stand a chance against that university itse;f, they have such an acomplishment that most of us don't know what to say or what to do... I was something more thatr what we could handle. The university itself has it's reputation, this is something not to be messed with.
After that, I think that I need a lot of trainings, trainings that can help me boost my self-esteem and boost my analitical skills. Well, as a public speaker I fell hard onto the ground... Why? because I don't know how to address myself, and that is bad itself. People like Ips and so on, are very good stand up comedian, that can just be there and just talk, and can make you laugh and understand what they say up onstage, Its something that we all can look forward to. I think I'm obsessed with the debating championship that I think I need to adrress myself well enought to pull through all the events!!!
I must try to at least be in the finals for next year's junior finals. I must train now, because I know in the end, I would prevail!
